Timeline & Status
Geometry Upload 2.0 is a new and improved feature of our analysis tool that enables seamless uploading of architectural geometry from Revit for analysis.
Based on user feedback about its functionality and experience, we redesigned the workflow in 2023 to make the process simpler, more intuitive, and efficient for handling project geometries.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT & USERS
What is Geometry 2.0?
Our current software helps create designs and models for our HVAC tool, loadmodeling.tool.
However, users often face issues when importing designs and models from Autodesk Revit and this has been observed as a pain point.
To solve this, we're planning a major revamp to make editing and preparing these designs easier.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT & USERS
Geometery Upload Revamp
In 2024, our company underwent design and brand evolution, we focused on expanding the existing design system and developing scalable tech solutions.
We took a strategic call to save major architectural overhaul for later and only reskinned the entire flow to the new style.
Since development resources were already allocated for these changes, we prioritised enhancing the Payment Intercept screen.

Analysis & key
insights
I categorized the
outcomes into three main areas to make sense of the
findings, allowing us to focus on key improvements
and align our efforts
with user and stakeholder needs.
Unclear Wallet-linking steps
Instructions for granting security permissions and transaction approvals

Absence of Invitation Tracking
Users had to manually monitor rewards, causing confusion and reducing
engagement in referral campaigns.
Fragmented Website Content
Many struggled to understand the platform’s core value proposition,
especially first-time users trying to evaluate its benefits.
Discovery
When I joined the Type!t project, the team had already conducted usability testing and stakeholder interviews on the
existing product.

RESEARCH SUMMARY
Improving the
Content Layout
I redesigned the Invitation and Tokenomics pages to resolve fragmented
content and improve usability. By
enhancing the information hierarchy and
applying clear layouts, I made key information accessible and streamlined
workflows.

Before
The Invitation page lacked a clear hierarchy, with
buried key information, fragmented workflows, and
poor grouping hindering navigation and comparisons.

After
I implemented a card-based layout and tabular format to
improve scannability and comparison.
Challenge 2
How might we improve the website’s navigation and content structure to make it
easier for users to access key features and understand the platform’s value?

Before
The Tokenomics page's scattered information and
inconsistent layout made comparing $WORD and
$TYPE difficult, increasing cognitive load and reducing
usability.

After
Semantic grouping and consistent layouts improved clarity
and accessibility.
Prioritized key elements like the
leaderboard and utilities for
intuitive navigation.
Applied clear labels, semantic
grouping, and progressive
disclosure to simplify complex
information.

UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM SPACE
Too many semi functional solutions increaease friction for user to complete tasks.
Our present web-based BIM software primarily aids in preparing closed geometry for our HVAC design software called loadmodeling.tool that uses EnergyPlus via the OpenStudio SDK. However, recognizing the challenges faced by our users with model quality variability when importing geometry from Autodesk Revit, we're now planning a substantial overhaul of our software with the primary focus on drawing editing and prep for simulation.

OPPORTUNITY
Why we wanted to incorporate a new wokflow?
Our present web-based BIM software primarily aids in preparing closed geometry for our HVAC design software called loadmodeling.tool that uses EnergyPlus via the OpenStudio SDK.
However, recognizing the challenges faced by our users with model quality variability when importing geometry from Autodesk Revit, we're now planning a substantial overhaul of our software with the primary focus on drawing editing and prep for simulation.
CONSTRAINTS & RESULTS
Adapting to a short timeline
Due to the project having a short timeline, I was unable to build a functioning product to perform a
long term usability study. Instead I allowed users to give me their honest opinion on the functionality
while backing the longterm success with psychology.
100
%
User satisfaction
12/12 users believed that new geometry upload would increase their motivation to learn and help them stay on track. Many users reported that they already instinctually
blocked off time to learn.
Short term goals increase motivation
Any accomplishment, no matter how small, releases the neurotransmitter dopamine which
boosts your mood, motivation and attention. It also signals you to keep doing the activity
again and again.
Reducing decision-making boosts mood
The brain closely monitors the body's energy during prolonged decision-making. When
energy is low, the brain conserves by limiting functions, including the prefrontal cortex
responsible for complex decisions. This can lead to irrational behaviors, poor choices, and
quitting prematurely. Thus, it's not just a bad attitude that can hinder goal achievement, but
also our brain's energy-conserving responses.
